This Mother’s Day will be mom’s second one overlooking heaven’s balcony.
A perfect time to reflect on all she taught me, especially when it comes to disability.
First, she taught me that we all have a disability;
mine just happens to be one you can see.
Second, she taught me that it was OK to do things differently.
Third, she taught me not to compare, we all have talents and struggles to share.
Next, she taught me to encourage others as much as I encourage myself,
and to be willing to give and receive help.
Mom’s greatest lesson was and always will be: No matter how much C.P. limits me, my attitude truly determines the severity of my disability.
